I'm sure everyone is well aware how stressful and anxiety ridden this semester has been. For myself personally, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I work at a nursing home in town, so when this all broke out I had to evaluate what was more important- exposing myself as a high risk individual, or taking a leave from my job and being broke, jobless, and unable to pay rent. The latter wasn't a viable option. There were so many points in this semester where I wanted to stop and give up, throw away all my classes and just lock myself in my house forever. Especially when my facility finally became exposed to COVID-19. It was hard to cope with all of this, I had only my partner to rely on. At some point me and my partner started to go for walks to clear our heads. There's something centering about acknowledging the smaller parts of the world around you. These cloud photos, reminds me of paintings and how they capture this raw appreciation of shapes. I like this branch out too, use to seeing your buildings and seeing how you capture clouds are totally different and I dig that. I think the use of different locations for clouds help a lot, especially in the farm fields, where you can see the true extent of these formations.
ReplyDeleteI love these nature photos and how they feel so peaceful, the second one especially. I also really enjoy the reflection in the water in the last image, it brings more dimension to the photograph and is nicely captured. The second to last one is really interesting to me as well. I like they way you were able to capture this moment right before a storm and I really enjoy how you captured the clouds in this image.
ReplyDeleteThey kind of make me feel like a storm chaser! Weather photos are interesting because I haven’t really ever seen those kinds. The most difficult would be taking photos of tornadoes. That would be a true challenge! I can also appreciate the effort that was taken into these pictures. The fact that you went out during a storm for photos really shows your interest and commitment to the craft.
ReplyDeleteHey Ontha! Thank you very much for the kind words, it means a lot! In regards to using a wide angle lens for that wide photo, it was actually a panorama taken with my phone. It took sooo many tries to keep the horizon line flat, but the panoramas are a lot of fun. Thanks again for your thoughts, I'm really glad they had that effect with you!
